Things to do When Depression Strikes

beautiful-girl-2003647__340Okay, so I have major depressive disorder. I have really bad depression sometimes, actually, a lot of the time. Depression makes me feel numb, hopeless, bored, I feel like not taking care of myself, lethargic, angry that I cant snap out of it, sad, and other things, all at the same time. If you suffer from depression, hopefully this can help a little. I know how it is, when I am depressed, I read countless articles on how to remedy it, these are things that work a little for me. We cant make it go away, usually it just has to run its course. But, we can make it more bearable with therapy, medication, and perhaps these ideas can help you.

1.Take care of yourself. Taking care of yourself is really important. When you take care of yourself when you are depressed, it makes you feel a little better. I know its hard, sometimes it can be the hardest thing to do to get out of bed, let alone take a shower, but find that inner strength to get up out of bed and just take a shower, it will make you feel a little better at the very least.

2. Hang out with your friends and family. I know it probably feels like you don’t want to be around anyone, or go any where, or do anything. But trust me, if you just muster up the willpower to have them come over, or for you to go chill with them, you will feel so much better. You may just get lucky enough to get caught up in the moment and forget about your depression. And these moments can keep you going. You don’t have to do anything fancy or that costs money, just be with them, laugh, play games, have fun!

3. Exercise. I know that exercising is probably very low on your list right now if you are depressed, however, you should try. Dig deep down and make yourself take a walk or go do a workout at the gym or at home. For bonus points, go with a friend or family. Take a beautiful walk on a nature trail. Do sweatin to the oldies, it will be fun, or try a belly dancing video! Take a class at the gym, maybe you will make friends!

4. Volunteer. When you volunteer you can help people who may be more or just as depressed as you are. It is a wonderful feeling to help people in need. Volunteer at an animal shelter, as a big brother or sister, for Habitat for Humanity, Red Cross, etc. There are tons of places that need good people to volunteer. Volunteering has been proven to raise self esteems and relieve depression. So what are you waiting for?

5.Be creative. Fun fact, people who suffer from depression are known to be more creative than the average bear. Try poetry, pottery, painting, drawing, knitting, etc. Whenever I feel depressed I force myself to paint and it makes me feel a little better. I also like to color in coloring books for adults, go ahead and use kid coloring books too, who cares! Coloring is fun and relaxing. Try new creative things. If you have always wanted to try something creative, go ahead and try it. Take an art class with a friend. Make fairy furniture, a fairy house, a fairy land. Be creative!

6. Write in a journal. I am a big advocate of journaling. Journaling is stress relieving, relaxing, and therapeutic. When I am depressed, I write about it, and it makes me feel better. You should try it!

7. Pray. I don’t care what religion you are, that is none of my business, but pray. I am a Christian, and when I pray it makes me feel better, and I truly believe and have faith that God is helping me through my depression.

8. Meditate. I talk about this a lot, and there is a good reason why. Meditating has a lot of good benefits. Meditation can help with depression.

9. Make a list of accomplishments. It doesn’t matter how big or small, if it is something you are proud of yourself about, write it down. This will help put you in a better mood, and remind you that there is more to life than depression. Also you could write a gratitude list, list all of the things you are grateful for.

10. Dance! Turn on some positive upbeat music and dance like nobody is watching. Dance silly, make up new silly moves. This will lift your spirit and release endorphins! Bonus points if you sing!

This post is all about self love and self care! Self love is big right now, as it well should be, especially in our fast paced world, people need to be told that it’s okay to pay attention to our own needs, it is not selfish, it is not a waste of precious time, it is not exaggerated, which are all the things I thought when I use to think of self care. But it really is a game changer. It helps me step my mom game up, it helps me be a friend, a better fiancé.Everyone should do it.  I’M NOT SPONSERED BY SELF LOVE lol…or anyone actually hahaha. You like that, you know, how I spelled my laughing out so you know I am laughing in an audible hahaha. Anyway, side tracked…sorry.

  1. Take a bath, and were not talking a regular boring bath, every time you take a bath make it the bath of a life time! Im talking bubbles, im talking bath bombs or bath teas, im talking all natural and healthy but awesome bath products! You can make these yourself, like I do, or you can buy healthy natural products. Candle lit, practice fire/candle safety, if you don’t know how to google it, I am too lazy to explain it. Put your hair up in a bun, get yo bath pillow and relax! Be careful though, after all of that work to make the bath, you might fall asleep, don’t fall asleep
  2. Journal. No matter what type of journaling you do, you are helping yourself feel less stressed, your getting emotions and feelings out, and you are taking part in a healing process.
  3. Color. I love coloring, I am very creative, so I like partaking in creative projects, like coloring. Try it, it is so fun and relaxing. You can just go off in your own world for a moment.
  4. Play video games, bet you didn’t expect that! Just be careful if you have an addictive personality, seriously, people get addicted to video games. Play an awesome game. My favorite is Elder Scrolls Tamriel online. Its stress relieving and if you find the right one for you, very fun.
  5. Eat breakfast, a lot of us, myself including, don’t eat breakfast, but need to. That’s the first place our energy comes from for the day, if you don’t, you will just be dragging all day, trust me. Make yourself a nice, big, full breakfast. They say at breakfast eat like a king, for lunch  eat like a prince, and for dinner eat like a pauper.
  6. Give yourself a foot massage, unless you can get someone else to, then definitely let them do it. It will be so relaxing and use lotion, so you will be taking care of your feet  by moisturizing them. For a little extra, use a lotion you made, or use a lavender lotion, or a scent that makes you feel calm. I always say, use aromatherapy as much as possible through out the day, you will love it!
  7. Exercise, I know it doesn’t sound remotely like self love to me either, but it really is. I need to exercise more, so am I being hypocritical? yes, I am. But seriously, exercise is really important. Especially as you get older. I am 31 and have not exercised regularly since I was in the Army, which I got out when I was 23. So , I know it is really important for people my age especially and older. If you are younger thought it is really important as well, think about your future. No matter what age we are exercise is important for our health, to relieve stress, to be able to sleep at night, lots of reasons. It helps prevent osteoporosis in women, it helps prevent diabetes, it helps prevent hundreds of things, literally. It is great for you. To learn more, google.
  8. Meditate. Take at least 15 minutes out of your day, every day, to meditate. I wrote a whole post on meditating , if you are interested in learning more about meditating. It helps relieve stress and anxiety, it can help depression. Sometimes what I do is take 15 mins and say in my head as I breathe in, the words in with positivity, and as I breathe out, I say the words release negativity. 18 Tips for Taking Care of Your Amazing Vagina!

We shouldn’t feel ashamed or embarrassed to talk about our vaginas in appropriate ways lol. Vaginas are powerful, special, strong, and part of what makes us women. Vaginas help create one of the best miracles on planet earth, our children. So be proud of your vagina, show it the love, care, and respect it deserves.

  1. ALWAYS wipe from front to back, or use separate pieces of tissue for front and back, this is what I do, and how I taught my daughter to wipe.
  2. NEVER double dip, another words, never put something in your vagina that has been in your boot boot, don’t ever do it!
  3. Air your vagina out, go pantyless for a couple of nights a week if possible. It is good to let your vagina breathe.
  4. Avoid silk, nylon, silky panties. Wear cotton underwear.
  5. Drink lots of water for your vagina health.
  6. Foods that have been said to make your vagina smell better if eaten:  celery, bananas, apples, yogurt, red grapes, cranberry juice, mint, watermelon, strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, mango, blueberries, mint, green tea, cucumber, parsley, citrus, and honey.
  7. Don’t stick things in your vagina that are not made for your vagina, ex. don’t put a bunch of jalapenos in your vagina!
  8. When ever you have sex, or pleasure yourself, try to go pee afterwards.
  9. When washing your vagina, try to use a fragrance, chemical free soap. Our vaginas actually naturally clean themselves, but they can still get sweaty and stinky, especially the outside. I use an all natural soap to clean my vagina. Avoid feminine washes, these can mess with your ph balance.
  10. DO NOT use douches!
  11. If you use tampons, try to use all natural, chemical free ones, or use fragrance free at the very least.
  12. Don’t use hair removal creams,  the chances of you getting a yeast infection are very high.
  13. Drink cranberry juice if you have a bladder infection, in addition to the medical advice of your doctor, and any prescriptions you nay receive.
  14. Always wear condoms, the pill doesn’t prevent stds.
  15. Soak in a warm bath with sea salt.
  16. Wear panty liners if need be, I do because I have had a child, you moms know what im talking about
  17. Use tea tree oil to moisturize the areas that you shave, use daily.
  18. Have respect for your vagina, don’t be letting just anybody in

These are my tips and tricks for taking care of our beautiful, wonderful, unique vaginas. None of the advice I have been given is meant to substitute medical advice. Things That I Hate

182479_204669542883606_1695497_n (1).jpgEverybody is always writing about how wonderful life is and how everything is going great and about everything they love, I do this too. But today I decided why not try something original and write about everything I hate.

I hate that I was at my daughters school today and I was blocking the crosswalk and I got out of my car and kindly asked the woman in front of me if she could move her car up a couple of feet so I could move up and she said no with her sassy ass attitude.

I hate that there are children and animals being abused all the time and that I cant do anything to stop it. I hate that people are too busy bitching about how they hate trump to come together and fix our nations problems. I hate people who feel they are entitled to something when they aren’t. I hate people that bully other people. I hate it when people feel like they have to hide who they are. I hate it when people are rude and have no manners.  I hate that there are people who torture, rape, and murder people and I hate that they don’t receive the death penalty. I hate that there are people who hurt animals and that they don’t receive the death penalty.

I hate that my computer is a piece of crap and that I don’t have the money to buy a new one. I hate that I ruined my college opportunities. I hate that I don’t have a job. I hate that when I get a job it will be one that I will have to go to for the rest of my life and hate.

I hate that I have to constantly worry about the safety of my child. I hate that I am always broke. I hate that I try so hard to work on this blog, til my wrists hurt and im exhausted and for what , 20 views a day if im lucky. I hate that people are so cruel and mean.

I hate that drugs exist. I hate that there are children starving and I cant help them, and if I could I would in a heartbeat , but there are countless celebrities that don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves who could easily help end world hunger. I hate that people go and adopt babies from other countries, when we have thousands of homeless children in America. I hate that people are so selfish and self centered.

I hate that I have to worry about the safely of my loved ones and my daughter because people cant fucking drive! I hate that nobody wants to help anybody anymore, and I hate that when people try to help other people, those people don’t really need help or don’t use the help. I hate that people pollute the earth and hurt the ecosystem but don’t give a shit.

I hate that I let myself get diabetes. I hate that everyday is a struggle to get out of bed. I hate my depression and anxiety. I hate struggling with my health all the time. I hate that I am always nice, I am a Christian, I always do the right thing, and I fight like hell to get further in this life and it never happens

. I hate that there is a race war going on in this country fueled by hatred and ignorance. I hate that nobody cares about anybody else.I hate that there are lonely people and I cant do anything about it. I hate suicide. I hate people that think they are better than everyone else. I hate bigots.

I hate children killing other children. I hate moms and dads killing their own babies. I hate when children kill their parents. I hate how so many people feel bad about themselves and that we as a society just perpetuate it.I hate that little girls dress twice their age. I hate that children are having sex.  I hate political correctness…its gone too far. I hate that my child will never be able to walk down the street and feel one hundred percent safe. I hate sex trafficking.  I hate greed.

I hate that people hurt each other and don’t give a damn.  I hate that technology has replaced family time. I hate that I question my faith sometimes. I hate that everyday is exactly the same. I hate that people just don’t say what they mean, that they don’t tell the truth, that they are fake. I hate that I cant make everybody love each other and get along and achieve world peace! And those are just some of the things I hate. Most of all, I hate the fact that Rose could have moved her fat ass over for Jack so he didn’t freeze to death in the titanic, but she didn’t.  Peace, im out .
